The Terminator awoke from open heart surgery with two iconic words “I’m back”.
Arnold Schwarzenegger underwent an operation to replace the catheter valve in his heart yesterday Thursday, the 29th of March. The surgery was completed at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, where the superstar resides.

It’s been reported by TMZ that there do appear to have been some complications with the surgery. Exactly what they are, we do not know at this time. We feel comfortable to say that we are optimistic about his condition, as his first choice in words was quite humorous.

Daniel Ketchall, a representative of Schwarzenegger told the following to ABC:

Governor’s Schwarzenegger’s pulmonic valve was successfully replaced and he is currently recovering from the surgery and is in stable condition. We want to thank the entire medical team for their tireless efforts.
His first words were actually, ‘I’m back’

Schwarzenegger had his first open heart surgery all the way back in 1997. The procedure was an aortic valve replacement. What’s interesting is that Schwarzenegger did not actually even need surgery at the time, but decided to get it anyways while he was still a young man.

Schwarzenegger has previously explained that his condition is congenital, and not related to any of the drugs he used when he was a bodybuilder. He also chose to go for what is called a me tissue valve replacement instead of a mechanical replacement. There was a chance if he used the latter, he would not be able to keep his current fitness regimen going so he decided against it.

Arnold started his bodybuilding career very young at only 15 years of age. You managed to win the famous Mr. Universe just Five Short years later as a 20 year old, making him one of the youngest competitors to ever do so.
